It’s such a thrill being involved in Disney Plus’ ‘Beatles 64’. I finally feel on a certain level to have honoured my ‘Inner Child’ whose life was forever cemented upon hearing the 4 Liverpudlian legends for the first time through overprotected virgin ears.
Their Sound was thrilling & unique & represented EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE. For Whom the Bell Tolled ? It Tolled for ME & TOLD ME upon its sounding, the stories I too were to muster the courage to tell.
And while I might have never been a Beatle, I did manage to find some space as a ‘Cockroach in the Cupboard’ while surviving various attempts at my extermination.
Mainly because THE LOVE OF MUSIC & my Dedication to its Muses Many Voices have protected me while shining a light on my living.
I drank the Coolaid, ALL OF IT, followed my Heart & its Values,
(& studied every basic instrument that would help me solidify my fate), & listened only to the Drummer within that Destiny availed to me.
And as much as for any OTHER reason, it was because my mentors awakened in me, the SPIRIT THAT WAS ASSIGNED TO GUIDE MY LIFE through the vagaries of our Human existence, thanx to our beloved John, Paul, George, & Mr. Richard Starkey (OBE), otherwise known as ‘Ringo’ (who is also one of the main reasons that we love Rings) !
And perhaps the Coolest part is, 60 years after ‘64, I’ve still not outgrown their Music, nor my boundless affection for it.
My ‘INNER CHILD’ is at Peace, which bodes well for my Soul going forward as we continue our call to (paraphrasing Dylan*) ‘RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT’.
There BTW, is more GOOD NEWS to announce, which in due time we shall !
