It’s been fascinating to bear witness to how Questlove has gone from being a founding father of one of Music’s most pivotal bands, to now a fully fledged
‘GATEKEEPER’ firmly entrenched in our collective society’s membrane. And it’s been rather galvanizing for me as an Artist to have FINALLY found Gatekeepers FAVORABLE to my claim regarding my little ‘Piece of the Sky’, as the previous generation of Keepers in many cases went out of their way to deny me.
And it wasn’t easy being locked out of a world that you yourself helped to create.
They created several names for it, then seemingly assigned it to everyone else while sidelining my situation.
Perhaps it’s a Generational thing & it took me this long to FIND MY PEOPLE, who accepted me as I came, nor berated me for what I was NOT. Nevertheless it’s been written by some besotted soul somewhere that ‘TIME TAKES TIME
(To Be Time)’.
The late ANDY WARHOL once famously stated that
“IN THE FUTURE EVERYONE WILL BE FAMOUS FOR 15 MINUTES”.
And for years I wandered perplexed of mind looking for the extra 10 minutes that I’d felt cheated out of. I had no desire to be remembered as ‘the 5 Minute Man’, hell, I wouldn’t even drink MINUTE MAID Orange Juice lest it be counted & amortized against my claim ! But the LIFE IS WHAT IT IS & it’s been incredibly fulfilling to have survived long enough to see the fruition of the Seeds of Faith that were planted in what now appears to have been THE GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE.
So, Fair Play To Us All. I dedicate this to all of our hearts & the disposition of our health. And again THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
